Take a deep breathe and start slowly,
There are many things that can be useful and helpful, from planting equipment and maintaining tools.
The first one you need is a garden tool set, the basic as can be it’s still a must!
Two is a sprayer/mister, I think it’s absolutely essential, especially for specific plants.
Three must be a GOOD pair of gardening gloves, I recommend long ones but short ones are great too.
Four, Is GROW LIGHTS!!! Not just basic LED lights but especially made for plant grow lights (the prices are very similar), a pro tip is to get the ones with the adjustable stander.
Five (last but not least) is choosing the right planters, there are many options for this as basic planters, self-watering planters, grow bags, etc., and also the hydroponic system option
that’s not all you’ll need but those are the must haves.
I explain more about it in the “Indoor Gardening 101” Ebook, ALL the equipment you’ll need and all the practical guides and tutorial to start your indoor garden

Resources shows- ''Sustainability in mental health is the ability to provide high-value care now and in the future in the face of environmental, economic and social constraints. Climate change presents an unprecedented and urgent threat to human health and survival.''
Sustainable living helps you understand what's important- grounded you in the best way. A lot of sustainable lifestyles is about real, natural, and honesty whether if that's the community, projects, businesses and products or opinions, values, and the way you see life, it's all built about pure intentions to be and create good, and that gets in your mind and gives you a different kind of confidence in yourself and in the way you see yourself, which boost your mental health.
Also, it kind of makes you rethink a lot of subjects and gives you another perspective to your mindset and the way you see things, you realize that it's better to pay a little more for clothes so they will be made of sustainable fabrics, and will be made by people who get fairly paid and good conditions to their work instead of many other factories who creates air pollution and uses underage people in barely humans conditions to create fast fashion trash that harms the environment.
It makes you think twice before using disposable items (especially plastics) because they will end up in the ocean and will probably harm/ kill innocents animals, and also to prefer buying from clean beauty & vegan companies who don't test on animals- cruelty-free brands.
Because personally, at the end of the day, I'm happy to support sustainable movements and cruelty-free businesses that create a good impact, it gives a sense of hope in humanity (and a good feeling about myself for caring and being part of something positive).
On top of that, when you care about the earth and realize what's happening in the process you're becoming much more aware of what's happening around you and inside you.
A lot of the connection to nature is turning into a connection to yourself. While trying to be more eco-friendly.
for example, you chose to take a walk to the grocery store to reduce fuel consumption and in the way you're having time to connect to nature and yourself, that self-time we usually don't have on a daily routine, to be with your thoughts, to focus and breath the air outside and to enjoy the benefits of the outdoors like vitamin D from the sun and calming vibes.
Sustainability also has a big part in your physical health- which eventually affects your mental health. When you take care of the planet, the planet takes care of you. Whether if it's the food you eat / the water you drink or the air you breathe. ''everything you give the planet, the planet gives you back, either food or position''.
The community affects a lot as well. I didn't know what until I really started to take zero waste living seriously, I discover an amazing community of such great people who simply care about the environment and share so much positivity with the world. The type of people who will be there to support and help you with the journey and will give you tips. For me, that was a big reason to open Help Earth Shop to help others as well.
Part 2 - by Shagun Jain (ig - @unearth.ish)
What was the first thing that came to your mind when you read the heading? Here they go again talking about the environment and the climate. Well, here we go again talking about the environment and how it affects your mental health.
Not just the people who actually worry about this hot hot planet, but those as well who don't. As research has shown, your environment and atmosphere influence your mood, your behaviour and even your actions; when you surround yourself with less stuff you find that you are less stressed.
Sustainable Living is more than buying eco-friendly products, it is about maintaining a life that is sustainable for you. Mindfulness increases when you live a sustainable lifestyle. You become more conscious of the impact your actions have on your mood and emotions as you examine the environmental impact of your everyday activities. You concentrate more and ruminate less. As you strive toward a bigger purpose, having a goal to protect the Earth may enhance your confidence and self-worth.
Spreading environmental awareness and implementing sustainable habits may make you feel accomplished. You also become part of an environmentally conscious community, which provides social support. This gives you a more positive outlook on life and reduces depression symptoms. Spending less, recycling more, and raising awareness about major climate changes may help us prioritise and put things in perspective. Being more aware of one's surroundings aids in the control of bad emotions and the loss of track of one's thoughts.
However, on the other hand, A bad environment can affect mental health and well-being just as much. There are several relationships between climate change and poor mental health.
The problem of eco-anxiety also exists when in this field. But I feel that the benefits overcome the bad.
For me at unearth.ish, the online community is so supportive and so caring. People go out of their way to help you and that feeling is mutual. We are there together to learn, to inspire and to educate and when you have such a great group of people out there you feel motivated and you feel confident.
Bike riding also has the benefit of avoid traffic and improve overall navigational skills.
Environmental benefits
Bicycle riding uses minimal fossil fuels and is a pollution-free mode of transport. Bikes reduce the need to build, service and dispose of cars. Bicycle riding conserves roadway and residential space, thereby providing opportunities for less concrete and more plant life in urban areas.
Health Benefits
Cycling is a great workout that keeps you in shape. It can help build a healthy lifestyle, both physically and mentally.
“Whether you want to prevent health concerns from arising or manage existing conditions, regular exercise is key. Cycling regularly is one way to avoid a sedentary lifestyle and its accompanying health concerns.
It can help prevent cardiac issues such as stroke, heart attack, and high blood pressure. Cycling may also help prevent and manage“
Also, many other resources proved that cycling helps a lot for people recovering from cancer.
According to research from 2019, staying active if you have breast cancer may help reduce side effects of cancer treatment, including fatigue, and improve your overall quality of life.
On top of all of it, cycling is easier when it comes to access like traffic, close roads, countryside and trips. It's also very easy to reach, you can rent a bike for the day almost in every city which is also super budget-friendly.
You don't have the problem of refilling gas which is so bad for the environment and expensive.
Bike cycling is definitely the best option. Win-win situation. For you and the environment
]]>The thin line between cleaning and health and how it's connected to zero waste living.
When it comes to cleaning products we often forget how dangerous it can be to your health and how harmful is it to our planet and animals; the big factories that let go toxic chemicals into the air we breathe and spilled into the oceans, the plastics- 99% of cleaning products are packed with one-time use plastics + the disposable ‘hygiene’ products as disposable globs and wipes...
When it comes to health, “many cleaning supplies or household products can irritate the eyes or throat, or cause headaches and other health problems, including cancer. Some products release dangerous chemicals, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Other harmful ingredients include ammonia and bleach.”
“Cleaning products are a significant concern for conscious customers. Traditional store-bought cleaning products are known to release harmful toxins into the environment, which results in obstructing the natural ecosystems.”
Commercial use of ‘cleaning’ products mostly affects the environment by leading to pollution and waste. Air Pollution – Volatile organic compounds (VOC) in ‘cleaning’ products can affect indoor air quality and add to outdoor smog. Plus, transportation leads to carbon emissions from trucks.
And of course the main issue of using tons and tons of plastic for the excuse of “hygiene”. Tons of disposable packages, bottles, and boxes...
‘Cleaning’ products harm / kills mostly the sea animals by spilling dangerous chemicals into the ocean, and birds... by air pollution.
After realizing the damage ‘cleaning’ products do to the environment, our health, and animals you probably wonder what is the better alternative. Which is green cleaning.
What does green cleaning mean?
Green or eco-friendly products have less harmful effects on human health and the environment, compared to traditional ones. They are made of natural, biodegradable, and non-toxic ingredients. Includes the actual products like sponges and cleaning brushes.

What is matcha exactly? Matcha is a type of green tea originated in China and brought over to Japan in 1191. Unlike any other types of tea, matcha is a finely ground powder made from stone-grinding green tea leaves grown under unique conditions. Brewing matcha involves whisking it into warm water, as opposed to simply steeping. Thus, the entire leaf is consumed, carrying with it a more sophisticated flavour profile as well as greater nutritional properties than any other types of tea. It is for this reason that matcha has been considered both as a gourmet delicacy as well as a natural panacea of modern times. ]]>just the idea of taking a living creatures and to abuse them by trying on them dangerous chemicals that risking their lives and damaging their health and well-being, and in many cases make them disabled or even make their body create unnatural symptoms just for a marginal "beauty" product is distorting and sick.
In our opinion, all companies should be cruelty free, and if a company won't do it, they'll must be shouted down.
I chose not to show here pictures of animals testing because they're hard to watch and I believe that the people who care enough to read an article about the subject already know about the horrible pictures.
Each year, more than 100 million animals (mice, rats, frogs, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, monkeys, fish, and birds…) are killed just in the U.S. laboratories for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing.
What you can do to stop animal testing:
1 – don’t shop products from companies who's testing on animals. how to recognize if a company isn't testing on animals -
non-verified generic makers:
official certifications:
2 – complain. It's probably sound like a bad thing but it actually for a good cost, it's for saving lives and to stop the abusing. You can send emails… in a kind way to explain to them why this is the reason you won't shop their products, if they have a customer services (like they should) it's their job to read the review and make you satisfied, this way they will understand that they're loosing costumers and will have no other choice but going cruelty free.
3 – show your support to beauty companies who's actually care and already cruelty free. Companies that do not test on animals:
I hoped i helped to make things a little bit more clear(: please comment here if you know more companies who don't test on animals

**a company can lable the packaging of a product with this even if the product isn't recyclable or doesn't even make of recycled material. it means that they've donated money towards the recycling of packaging somewhere in the world.
Also, there's an important detail to know about recycled plastic; plastic can't be 100% recycled!
The term ’recycled plastic’ is misleading many people because when you hear the word recycled, you naturally suppose it's good for the environment (which makes sense in theory) but when it comes to ’recycled’ plastic it doesn't.
Recycled means- ”Recycling is the process of collecting and processing materials that would otherwise be thrown away as trash and turning them into new products. Recycling can benefit your community and the environment.”
basically, materials that have been collected to get processed to reuse, which helps the environment.
The thing about recycling plastic is that technically plastic can't be recycled, it can only be downcycled.
Unlike glass/ aluminum... plastic loses quality through the recycling process and can only be downcycled into lower quality, so after you downcycled it a few times, the quality gets too low until you can't downcycle it again and it ended up in the trash.
Plastic is one of the only materials that will never disappear & impossible to biodegradable.
Fact- every single plastic that was EVER created is still on earth.
Plastic only crumbling into small pieces over the years.
because plastic can't be 100% recycled & when it does, it doesn't help the environment (definitely not alike when you recycle other materials who can eventually disappear) the best solution is to get reusable biodegradable products
*reusable plastic makes more damage than it helps because after it goes through the whole process of reusing & downcycling it's also ended up in the trash and it will get much harder to crumble into small pieces because it's strong plastic.
The best thing & the biggest change you can do for our planet is to stop buying and using plastic.
Also, when you'll stop buying crap, companies will stop selling crap, it's all about the demand, request and need.
]]>Every progress of anyone or anything about sustainability effects all of us. It starts with the smallest stuff like bringing a reusable bag to the supermarket and without noticing became of saving thousands of sea animals. Every small change is necessary and make a bigger impact than it seems.
Reuse.
The easiest way to make a big different and create much less waste is to own reusable products. Every reusable product replaces millions of one uses products.
simple math shows how ridiculous one-use plastics are, simple example, if you're using 1 plastic bag every day, at the end of the month you'll create waste of (average) 30 plastic bags.
*most people are using way more plastic bags when they're going to the grocery store.
Instead of that, you can use 1 reusable bag for a few months. This way you'll create less waste, save money, and get rid of the censured of the bag to rip out (like what happens to most plastic bags).
Recycle.
The first step of recycling is to use recyclable products instead of plastic, for example, Bamboo toothbrush instead of the plastic toothbrush.
A few examples for materials who's easy to recycle: paper, glass, steel, aluminum… and natural materials of course; cotton, canes, bamboo, leaves… and so much more
Separate your trash. To recycle you must separate each material. You can make a few main categories; 1. glass, 2. paper, 3. aluminum, 4. other – for natural materials trash (like bamboo, cotton…), 5. Compost- for food.
After you separate the different materials of trash, you can easily recycle.
Compost.
There's different ways to compost but the prosses is the same, your way of composting depends on you- if you have a yard that you can compost at or do you need to do it in a different way like compost in a bucket… there's many explanations guides online to how to compost correctly and tips.
Switch to LED lighting.
LED light bulbs last longer than conventional bulbs and are more efficient too. LED lighting is using less power and saves you money. They're also available in a range of brightness and designs so you can really tailor the lighting to your needs or to suit the room.
Cut out plastic.
To me this is the most important one. Plastic dose the worse damage because it can't really be recycled and it constantly damage nature, animals, earth and humas as well (*there's going to be a whole article just for that coming soon)
These days there're so many replacements to plastic products- there's replacements to plastic bags, plates, packages, boxes, bottles, straws, beaty products and cleaning products and so much more!
There are enough solutions.
thank you for reading(:
